On October 15, 2024, Minnesota Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson became the 15th goaltender to be credited with a goal in a NHL game and the 10th NHL netminder to actually shoot the puck into the opposing net.
Leading 3-1 against St. Louis with 15 seconds remaining on the road, Filip gloved a Pavel Buchnevick slapshot and promptly fired it 175 feet into the Blues' empty cage, becoming the first goalie to score in Wild history .After the game, Filip credited teammate Marc-Andre Fleury with giving him the idea 20 seconds earlier during a Blues timeout.The Wild went on to beat the Blues by a score of 4-1.
